Wyoming Grizzly Relocation

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department trapped and relocated an adult male grizzly bear on September 10, 2013. The bear was captured for killing livestock on private land northwest of Thermopolis, WY. In cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, the bear was relocated to the Boone Creek drainage, approximately 3.5 miles south of Yellowstone National Park, adjacent to the Winegar Hole Wilderness area. The release site is located in currently occupied grizzly bear habitat.
