Grizzly Problems Persist

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department trapped and relocated a yearling grizzly bear on Sept. 28, 2013.

The bear was preemptively captured for frequenting developed areas and damaging apple trees on the South Fork of the Shoshone River. In cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service the bear was relocated to the Mormon Creek drainage on the North Fork of the Shoshone River west of Cody, WY approximately five miles from the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park. The release site is located in currently occupied grizzly bear habitat.
