Foundation Goals
Our focus is to ensure a future the of bears and bear hunting in the United States. Right Now we have four major goals as an organization- 1. Get funding for a more in-depth population study of Black Bears.
- 2. We would like to have a better understanding on how a larger predator can effect the black bear and their ability to adapt and grow. Many areas in all states have not have in-depth studies done in years. Mostly due to "Higher Priorities" that pull funding from commission budgets.
- 3. Continue to advocate and protect all methods of bear hunting in the United States.
- 4. Delist the Grizzly Bear in Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and Northern Continental Divide Ecosystem. By doing so creating more hunting opportunities for the sportsperson.
We are dedicated to the protection & development of bears, bear habitat, & bear hunting in the US.
WhyThere is a lack of support for bears and bear hunters in the United States. Many of our states resources go into deer, elk, wolf, moose & the grizzly bear.
Increase in large predator populations like the wolf & grizzly bear could adversely affect black bear populations. The large predator issues take state & federal focus from a continued study & understanding of the black bear & black bear hunting opportunities. In these times it is essential to study & better understand the black bear & their habitat, more importantly how the black bear can co-exist with a much larger predator in the grizzly bear.
